Why indoor 5G drops

Outside on the street you often still have good reception—but in meeting rooms or inside buildings, connectivity can fail. Metal structures in walls and heat-insulating window glazing can unintentionally shield 5G signals. Reliable 5G access requires smart ways to bring the signal indoors.

Passive window-frame coupling

Passive window-frame coupling

Repeaters and micro base stations can help, but they are complex to install and require power. This project uses antenna structures on the outside and inside of the window frame to couple the 5G signal into the room. In most cases, this enables sufficient indoor reception. The approach can also retrofit existing buildings and requires no additional power.
